Creative Campus Initiative, in association with Dada-South and Create, Compete, Collaborate launch university based residencies

Disabled and Deaf Artist Residencies - DEADLINE 11th Jan 2010

In association with Dada-South and Create Compete Collaborate, several Universities across the South East are inviting disabled and Deaf Artists from all disciplines to submit an expression of interest towards taking up an artist residency as part of the Creative Campus Initiative (CCI).

CCI is a major project funded by the Higher Education Funding Council of England (HEFCE) for a consortium of 13 South East universities to deliver arts and research-based creative responses to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games - taking both direct and tangential inspiration from the sporting arena and the various social, cultural and political issues the Olympic and Paralympic Games endeavour raises.

We are seeking expressions of interest from disabled and Deaf artists to undertake a residency in one of the participating Universities for two to three months in spring 2010 (Feb to May). The residency will take the form of a preliminary artist-led inquiry with an ambition to work towards a larger project at the end of the residency.

Participating Universities are:

  • Solent University
  • University for the Creative Arts
  • University of Kent
