Sync South East individual Rachel Gadsden has been short listed for the International DaDaAwards in the Arts Award category for her artistic achievements during the last year and specifically for her work with Parliamentary Outreach and artistically leading the Breaking Barriers Project. These annual Awards celebrate excellence in the work of deaf and disabled artists.

They are currently held every year as part of DaDaFest and the awards will be presented at a prestigious evening dinner event held on the 3rd December at the Hilton Liverpool, coinciding this year with International day of disabled people and 1000 days until the opening of the Paralympic Games in London in 2012.

The awards follow two stages: firstly people are invited to submit applications for artists, groups or companies in one of the categories created by DaDa and sponsors. Secondly, these are then short-listed by an independent panel to just 4 nominees in each category. The short listed selection is now opened to a public vote through on line voting or postal votes.

If you would be interested in finding out more information about the DadaAwards or to vote for Rachel Gadsden (www.rachelgadsden.com) in the “Arts Award” Category please visit the DADA website (www.dadahello.com) and click on DadaFest (swirl pattern) - the second button on the top horizontal bar and follow the instructions.

Closing date for votes is Tuesday 1st December at 5pm
